Sharon Avenant

In 2013 Sharon decided to leave the corporate world and follow her passion.  She opened the beautiful shop in Franschhoek.

Sharon loves sourcing new, exciting and beautiful items for the shop. We try to source locally as much as possible. We also make a range of jewellery ourselves in the shop. This includes necklaces and beautifully crafted bracelets.

Sharon complete a Reiki I course in 2019 and started learning more about the healing powers of crystals. This has become a particularly important side of the business. There is so much to learn still and I have met interesting and amazingly talent people. Sharon has a deep love for people and animals.

Kobus Avenant

Kobus is a passionate mineral collector and, while still working full time, started a jewellery making course. In 2015 he decided to join Forever Gems permanently to pursue his passion, collecting minerals and making jewellery. In 2018 Kobus completed a cabochon making course at the Cape Town Mineral Club, where both him and Sharon are members. As a hobby, Kobus now shapes stones to use in his own unique jewellery range.

On weekends you will find him at our one of our various markets where he loves to share his knowledge about stones with young an old. He loves to chat about stones and fossils so pop in at one of the markets or events and spend some time talking rocks.

Samantha Dirkse

Sam joined the team in 2016. Coming from a strong retail background Sam worked at Cook Essentials and Ebony. Her love for fine Art is obvious and shehas a beautiful way of displaying stock in the shop.

Sam has taught herself how to make jewellery and her necklaces and bracelets are incredibly popular. Locals come in often to see what is new and return customers from overseas cant wait to buy one of her beautiful creations.

Sam is also learning about the healing power of crystals and would love to help you make the correct choice.
