Sikhote-Alin Iron Meteorite Fragment

This authentic fragment of a Sikhote-Alin iron meteorite offers a tangible connection to a spectacular celestial event. Observed falling in 1947, the Sikhote-Alin meteorite is one of the largest meteorites ever recovered, creating a massive crater field in the Russian Far East.
Hailing from the Sikhote-Alin Mountains in Russia, this meteorite is composed primarily of iron and nickel, with trace elements of other metals. Its distinctive octahedral structure is a result of its formation in the core of a large asteroid, billions of years ago. This structure, known as Widmanstätten patterns, is visible when the meteorite is etched, revealing a beautiful, intricate pattern.
This fragment, measuring 44mm x 30mm x 10mm approximately and weighing 31 grams, is a unique and valuable piece of space history. It's an excellent addition to any meteorite collection or a fascinating conversation starter. Owning a piece of the Sikhote-Alin meteorite allows you to hold a tangible connection to the vastness of the universe and the incredible forces that shape our world.
